| RECIPES  > VARENYKY > COOKING |
| This is the easy part. The only thing easier is eating them.
To prepare, chop up one onion. If you are cooking frozen Varenyky, do not defrost them before you cook them. Take them directly from the freezer to the skillet. |
| | COOK THE ONIONS Put  about 2 tablespoons of  sunflower oil from Ukraine, vegetable oil or 3 to 4
tablespoons of butter in a skillet.   |
| | ADD VARENYKY If you are using  frozen Varenyky directly from
the freezer, add a little water to the skillet. |
| | SERVE AND EAT Serve immediately while they are hot, smothered in
                onions from the skillet. |
| Hints:  If you have many varenyky to cook, they
will cook better if you use several skillets. However, if you do stack them in the pan (more than one layer), lower the heat and move them around the pan frequently with a good spatula. | |
